"I will be back... and I am back"

After a long hiatus while we were off experiencing the real world, The Proper Zombie is in action again. We even have some XNA plans in the works. Look for more info on The Line Game and Garden of Gore to be up soon.

EDIT: Scratch that. The Line Game sucks. Maybe I'll return to it in the future. Garden of Gore and others are still in the works.

Halo 3: Pyramid 42

gamertag: another zombie (or III apoIIo III)

Pyramid 42 is a Halo 3 map variant built from the ground up, filling a good part of the Foundry map. A hollowed out pyramid houses the defending base, and adds a bit of varity for single player games. Its only entrance is at the top of the pyramid, the only exits are portals out (so good luck attacking it).

This map is playable with any of the built in game types, though it works best with attack/defend game types like assault or one flag CTF.

LittleBigPlanet: Creation

psn: ender42

Alright, so it is a bit odd. It is a bit less odd if you know that it is an entry for the LittleBigLand.com competition themed "Journey to LittleBigLand." This level takes that journey very literally... First you create your levels, them submit them to LittleBigLand, and finally the most important step: play other levels!

The create portion takes up the majority of the level. Here, you use stickers to create various pieces that can be used to overcome the obstactles in the level. The video should give you a better idea of how it works, but be forwarned: it will also make the level a bit easier should you actually choose to play it...

LittleBigPlanet: A Tale of Two Ninjas

psn: ender42

Inspired by the flash / arcade game N, this level contains many of the same features. Short, simple, but occaisionally tricky, A Tale of Two Ninjas contains multiple paths to allow players to set their own difficulty. Having too much trouble with a challenge? Skip it! But if you want all the points, you will have to complete them all!

This is a great level to play with friends. Containing two co-op sections, you will need at least two people to do everything in the level. Get another friend or two to play as well and some of those challenges will be a bit more manageable.

LittleBigPlanet: Amaze

psn: ender42

Amaze is a bit difficult to put into words… your just going to have to go play it! But if you are still not convinced (and still reading), I’ll try my best:

Amaze is a maze-like level consisting completely of blocks that disappear on contact. Players must find their way through, facing various obstacles (often also involving disappearing blocks) along the way.

A somewhat brief level that isn’t too difficult for the platformer challenged, Amaze one of our more artistic levels that we hope will give players a unique experience; however, you may have to think (don’t worry, just a little) to get through this one.

LittleBigPlanet: Pirates of the Glass Cannon

psn: ender42

Pirates of the Glass cannon puts players in control of a small pirate ship that has, believe it or not, a glass cannon. Players must move the ship and use the cannon to interact with the world in various ways.

The level is broken up into three different sections. The first serves as an intro to the ship and how it works, giving players an opportunity to practice launching both themselves and some non-explosive cannon balls.

In the land based (aka normal) part of the level, players meet Steve, whose castle is under siege by a horrible monster. While this section is brief, there is an optional puzzle/platform here, which awards players with an item (the pirate ship) when completed.

Moving out of the castle, players take control of Steve’s (slightly disturbing) talking ship, which shoots cannon balls that are rather more dangerous than the previous ships. Here, players meet the monster, using their upgraded ship and daring acrobatics to (hopefully) slay the monster and earn some treasure.

First!

Welcome to theproperzombie.com! If you are reading this anywhere other than the archive section, chances are you probably already know who we are. If you don't know us and you are reading this, even from the archive section, then let us take this opportunity to give ourselves a pat on the back. We have at least one new reader!

If you've made it this far, you may be wondering why you are here, or why we are here for that matter. Besides the obvious answer of 42, we hope to use this site in the future to provide a base camp for our quasi-game development company, a place where people can find info on all the various projects we've worked on, as well as provide some insight into how we work. With any luck you will be seeing a few XNA games churned out within the few months.

Before we get started on anything new, we have some catching up to do. We weren't born yesterday, you know (and we didn't die yesterday either). Over the coming days (and possibly weeks, depending on how ambitious we are) we will be putting up info from various previous projects... the most recognizable of which will be Halo 3 and LittleBigPlanet content.

That said, welcome to the site. We hope you enjoy it.

Cheers, TPZ
